Flexible phones and tablets not distant dreams

We have all seen concept phones from Nokia and many other cellular companies that gave us the illusions of phones and other electronic devices which were flexible and can be rolled up to save space. We however were not tricked into believing them but all of us have thought at least for once  that the realization of such a concept would be extremely useful.

By the time all of us have already given up hopes of such chimerical electronic devices and started running the race for the best high-end smartphones, a group of South Korean scientists have come one more step closer to making the delusive concepts a reality.

Daily Mail has reported that a few South Korean scientists have developed batteries that can be twisted, bent or even rolled up and can be used for a number of devices. Not just a fancy battery, they can also pack more power into them for extended use than the present conventional batteries.

The team from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, led by Keon Jae Lee, have decided to call their development, the "high-performance flexible all-solid-state battery". It has already been proven that this battery is stable enough to power the phones.

Ergonomics and easy storage designs for ur ebook readers, tablets or mobile phone are not far away and it wont take long for the researchers to develop flexible screen panesl and circuit boards. Or am I too optimistic?
