First Look: Sharwanand's Sreekaram:- Young actor Sharwanand signed a village-based social drama which is titled Sreekaram. Kishore is making his directorial debut with this film which is under shoot. The makers unveiled the first look poster of the film. Sharwanand stuns in a traditional attire in the released poster. He plays a farmer in Sreekaram and the film is set in the backdrop of Anantapur. The actor will be seen in a traditional look throughout the film. AP Cabinet Approves to Demolish Legislative Council:- Ever since the Legislative Council of Andhra Pradesh opposed the three capital plan and sent the bill to the select committee, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy said that there is no use of Legislative Council and it would be demolished soon. As predicted, the AP cabinet today approved the demolishment of the Legislative Council of Andhra Pradesh. They will be soon introduced in the Assembly house and it would be approved as YSRCP has full majority in the house. The Government of Andhra Pradesh introduced the proposal as per the past amendments made by the Centre. YS Jagan made sure that this would not face any hurdles and create problems for the state government. All the loopholes as per the law are studied after which YS Jagan's team took the decision. The cabinet meeting took place today in Secretariat this morning and the cabinet approved the decision unanimously. The opposition party TDP is now left puzzled about the move and they are strongly opposing the decision of demolishing the Legislative Council in the state.

Second T20: Comfortable Victory for Team India:- India is currently touring in New Zealand and is busy with the five T20 series. After a remarkable victory in the first T20, the second one took place last evening. Once again, Team India showed pure dominantion and registered a comfortable victory in the match. New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first. Team India bowlers restricted New Zealand for 132 for the loss of five wickets. Martin Guptill (33), Tim Seifert (33 not out) and Colin Munro (26) are the top scorers for the side. Ravindra Jadeja (2/18) has been outstanding with the ball and Shivam Dube (1/16), Jasprit Bumrah (1/21) have been quite supportive. Chasing a total of 133, Team Indian batsmen never struggled and they had a comfortable run chase. KL Rahul (57 not out) has been the top scorer for the side and Shreyas Iyer supported well with his 44. India completed the chase in 17.3 overs for the loss of three wickets. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli disappointed with the bat. Tim Southee (2/20), Ish Sodhi (1/33) have been decent. KL Rahul has been awarded with the Player of the Match award. The third T20 match between India and New Zealand will take place on Wednesday (January 29th).

Basketball Legend Kobe Bryant Dies in a Helicopter Crash:- US Basketball legend Kobe Bryant along with his daughter Gianna including nine members were killed in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California. The 41-year-old basketball legend was traveling in his private helicopter when it came down and bombed into flames. Kobe Bryant happened to be a five-time NBA Champion and he is named as one of the greatest players in the history of basketball. The whole world was left in deep shock with the sudden demise of Kobe Bryant. His name was also remembered in the Grammy Awards which are held in Los Angeles Lakers Stadium where Kobe Bryant spent his entire career of 20 years. Several celebrities, politicians, and sportsmen across the globe paid their condolences on the sudden demise of Kobe Bryant. The National Transportation Safety Board said it sent a team to California on Sunday evening. The incident took place on Sunday afternoon (USA Time). Other victims included John Altobelli, his wife Keri and daughter Alyssa. Kobe Bryant played his entire career of 20-years with the Los Angeles Lakers. He got retired in April 2016. He also won an Oscar for best short animated film in 2018 for Dear Basketball. He is survived by his wife Vanessa and three other daughters Natalia, Bianca and Capri.

Nirbhaya Case: No Further Directions Required Says Court:- The Delhi Court today said that no further directions are needed about the plea by the lawyers as already a death warrant has been issued for the convicts in the Nirbhaya rape case. The lawyer of the convicts argued that the Tihar Jail delayed in producing the needed documents for the two other convicts as they wished to file mercy petition. Additional Sessions Judge Ajay Kumar Jain said the convicts’ lawyer can take pictures of the relevant documents, diary and paintings from the Tihar jail authorities. The public prosecutor made it clear that the Tihar jail authorities already produced all the relevant documents and the convicts are keen on delaying the hanging through their tactics. “The entire process is to defeat the law. We have already supplied all the documents. We procured all the documents from all the jails where they went,” the counsel said. AP Singh, the advocate of Vinay alleged that his client was slow poisoned and was hospitalized but the medical reports are not presented. As per the court's order, the hanging will take place on February 1st at 6 AM. The mercy petitions are rejected after which the date was fixed.

Telangana Municipal Poll Results: TRS Leading:- The Telangana Municipal Polls took place on Wednesday and the counting for the votes for 120 municipalities and 9 corporations in Telangana started today at 8 AM. Going with the early estimates, TRS is leading across all the municipalities. State Election Commissioner V Nagi Reddy said that the final results will be out by evening. 70.26% voter turnout was seen during the polls. Elections were held for 2971 wards across the state. Over 12,900 candidates tested their luck in the Telangana Municipal Polls. TRS is leading the list while Congress is giving tough competition in some of the wards. As per the early estimates, Congress won 2 wards in Rangareddy district and TRS won 5 wards. The Election Commission asked the returning officers to declare the results only after the approval by the election observers. Counting of postal ballots is carried out first, followed by counting of ballot papers. For the first time in the country, the Election Commission used a facial recognition app to counter the impersonation of the voters. The pilot project was implemented in ten polling states in Kompally municipality. The State Election Commission (SEC) on Thursday had ordered re-polling in three booths in Mahbubnagar, Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts. The final results of the Telangana Municipal Polls will be out by evening.

Four Crore People in China Locked Down Due to Deadly Virus:- A deadly new coronavirus in China has been making the people of the country sleepless and almost four crore people are left locked. The number of confirmed cases rose to 830 which left the country in panic. 26 people died till date and the World Health Organization (WHO) declared this as a global medical emergency. China extended its lock-down to 13 cities and over 41 million people are locked. Singapore detected three cases and South Korea, Japan detected their second cases each. Wuhan which is named as the industrial hub to China was shut with a population of 11 million. The Lunar New Year festival has been canceled and all the cities are shut down to prevent the spreading of the disease further. All the cities reminded of ghost towns as there are no people on the streets and they were restricted to their houses. Several hospitals faced bed shortages and the hospitals across China are working hard to accommodate the patients. A student based in Hyderabad returned from Wuhan recently and his sample was sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune. The report was received was negative. The student was kept in a government hospital for observation despite of the negative report. The coronavirus spreads faster and is quite dangerous.

The issue got a halt after the Legislative Council referred the bill to the Select Committee which would reveal their decision in the next three months. To collect the feedback from the people about his governance, YS Jagan is in plans for a state tour from February 1st. He asked the officials to make all the necessary arrangements for the same. YS Jagan is also in plans to initiate the program of offering homes for the poor in the state. The program will start from Ugadi this year. The officials are now interacting with the local officials and preparing the route map for the tour of YS Jagan. They are also busy collecting the feedback from the volunteers and resolve the pending issues before YS Jagan starts his tour. Though a tour map is planned, there are talks that YS Jagan may land in a particular village without prior information. The officials are now left worried about the sudden tour of YS Jagan.
