Central govt refuses to accept leaking Radia tapes

The Central Government on Tuesday had rejected that it had any role to play in the leaks of the tapped conversations of the corporate lobbyist Nira Radia while confronted at the Supreme Court,

The supreme court how ever bashed at the Central Government for not being able to conduct a satisfactory probe into the issue of the leak. The Apex Court said that the government has not enforced any measures to ensure that the leak would be prevented.
Last the govt had filed a report with the Supreme Court in which it stated that there was no evidence of the source of the leak of the tapped conversation which went on between Nira Radia and other prominent men such as Ratan Tata, the chairman of the Tata Group.

"In a nutshell, the report says it is difficult to find by which source it was leaked," a bench comprising justices GS Singhvi and SJ Mukhopadhaya said, after pouring over the report contained in a sealed envelope.
The second report from the government regarding the probe of the leakage was filed after Ratan Tata had sought an inquiry of the leak while he filed a petition in the court alleging that it was a violation of his fundamental right to privacy.
