Geetika Sharma Suicide case: Kanda surrenders

Former Haryana minister Gopal Goyal Kanda, after absconding for 11 days had surrendered to the Ashok Vihar Police, after he was accused for abetting the suicide of his former employee in the MDLR airlines, Geetika Sharma.

Gopal Kanda had made the police wait for 4 hours after he had reported through his brother that he would surrender at 12:30 am. He showed up only at 4 am while the police had thought that he had still continued to abscond.

Anticipatory bail petition that was placed in the Delhi High Court was rejected as the bail was filed not by the person who was resisting arrest but by a representative of him.

Justice PK Bhasin, has said "he appears to be sitting comfortably somewhere without any apprehension of his arrest by the police" talking about Kanda while Govind Kumar, the brother of the accused had applied for the anticipatory bail application with no authorization.
