Gopal Kanda to undergo medical tests

The former Haryana Minister, Gopal Kanda had surrendered to the Ashok Vihar Police today early in the morning at 4 am after absconding for 11 days. He was later been taken to the Baby Jagjivan Ram Hospital for medical checkup. Kanda, the prime accused in the Geetika Sharma Suicide case, had been rejected anticipatory bail twice earlier, first by a trial court and then the Delhi High Court. The trial court had also issued a non-bailable warrant against him.

Kanda would also be produced in the trial court in Rohini for the charges of abetting Geetika's suicide. The police are expected to seek the custody of Kanda for further questioning and confrontation with co-accused Aruna Chaddha.

Ankit, Geetika's brother, has requested the government to make a impartial investigation in the case. Ankit alleged that the whole surrender story was a drama. He had also accused the Congress of Haryana Government for shielding the former minister saying that Kanda had all the time in the world to erase all evidences in the case. He requested that the whole trial be recorded on camera lest Kanda change his words later.
