Chain Snatcher takes police for a drive

A well planned out arrest by the Mumbai police took a turn for the worst when the accused drove the police in his own SUV while trying to escape. However, he was finally caught by the police and arrested.

Nagpada Police received confirmed information that a much wanted chain snatcher was travelling to Delhi on Rajdhani express on Sunday. The policemen nabbed Qureshi, who had been booked at least 35 times for chain snatching after identifying him at the railway station.

The thief after being arrested offered to drive the police in his new Innova SUV to the police station. Melted by the new vehicle probably, the policemen accepted the offer not knowing that the tale would take its worst turn. Qureshi drove to the police station after which constable at the rear end got down. Pretending to park the vehicle, Qureshi reversed his Innova and revved the engine only to flee with other cops inside his vehicle.

Qureshi was caught by passersby who thought he as escaping the police for reckless driving after he collided with a trash bin on the street putting an end to the high chase. He was finally brought to the police station and then arrested.
