Educated youth behind chain snatching menace

The city of Hyderabad is having to deal with a lot lately, what with the city being pulled apart in the bifurcation struggles. The last thing its residents need is educated youth becoming thieves. That's what happened to these five individuals, who ganged up to steal from others.

We don't know what has prompted this call center employee and her accomplices to take up chain snatching professionally. But, once the police exposed their game, they realized their folly. Sana Khan, a 21 year old fashion design student, arrived from Mumbai and began staying a relative's house. She worked at the call center for money.

Soon, love bloomed in her life with a neighbor, Shoeb Ahmed. She quit her job, got hitched and joined hands with three others, including two engineering students, to begin a spell of stealing. The thieves were nabbed by the city police on Friday, found guilty for at least 23 cases of chain snatching.

Much like in a movie, the gang would split up and work on different areas, particularly Tirmulgherry. They were also caught in a filmy chase after their tried to abandon their car at the Old Bowenpally check-post and run away. According to the Commissioner, 3 gold chains, half a kilogram of ganja and an electronic weighing machine were found in their car.

Totally, Rs30 lakh worth bounty was recovered from the students turned criminals, including 70 tolas of gold chains, 1500 grams of ganja, three motorcycles, a car and several electronic gadgets.
