Spreading cheer through Art for Women...!

Sukanya tells us she seeks to exude positive vibes through her works.

Artist Sukanya is as passionate about teaching as she is about painting. No wonder some of her students have won awards at the nation level, making her proud.

She says, "I've learnt this craft from some of the most renowned artists in the city, and have been teaching kids for as long as 30 years now. And with the little time I get in between, I paint for my happiness."

The artist has exhibited 15 of her works, which she painted over the last two years, in the city. Her paintings portray women in their many moods.

"This is my first solo show in the city," gushes Sukanya, "I love painting women and nature, for I believe that the two are inter-related and are at their vibrant best. My works are figurative in nature, and each piece of art narrates a story. The paintings have been done using oil colours, and I've used bright, vibrant tones for the same. Since my subjects are a cheerful lot, my works exude positive energy."

Apart from painting, Sukanya is also well-versed in creating terracotta sculptures.
