Google invests in Taiwanese microchip maker

Google Inc is undergoing investment in a Taiwanese microchip maker that makes chips used in its Google Glass, the eyeglass-enabled devices have come in testing that can shoot photos and video and quality of being approachable of the Internet. The deal accompanying Tainan, Taiwan-based Himax Technologies Inc gives Google a 6.3 per cent stake in the Himax Display Inc subsidiary in the form of preferred shares. An option to buy more shares could eventually raise that stake to 14.8 per cent.

Furthermore, Himax Technologies at the present time possess 81.5 per cent of Himax Display and says it will remain the subsidiary's majority shareholder. The deal is anticipated to conclude this quarter and that the companies did not put a relative worth on it.
