Are long distance affairs happier?

Are long distance affairs happier?

Does absence really make the heart grow fonder? Yes, confirms a recent study that asserts that couples in long distance relationships are happier. However, testimonials by three women dismiss the research as trash. They believe that there can't be anything more hapless than staying away from your mate. Take a look.

"My husband moved to Mumbai three years ago because of work. I was heart-broken to know he wouldn’t be around me, but I had no other alternative. We do meet each other often. But it’s still not easy being away, especially since we’ve been together since we were 15. I am constantly in touch with him on WhatsApp. I am constantly messaging him; thankfully, he isn’t too annoyed by it.

"I totally loathe the idea of being in a long-distance relationship. I don’t get to see him often. I miss his hugs. I won’t know if he is upset unless he tells me. It’s, of course, great when we meet. But I’d rather have mundane days with him every day than bursts of awesome days once in a while."

"I was in a long-distance relationship for two years. And I had the most exasperating time. I was always worried that he’d cheat on me. He had done that when we lived in the same city, so what would stop him from doing so when I wasn’t close by. And as I had predicted, that did happen. A common friend who was also in Mumbai at the time my boyfriend was there, told me about it. We’ve broken up now, but the next time, I will ensure my partner and I are not in different cities."
