Attachment is nothing but the ways we relate to others based on the communications and behavior we exchange with our parents. After grow up you can build healthier, attuned relationships, and communicate more effectively. The emotional attachment that grew between you and your caregiver was the first interactive relationship of your life, and it depended upon nonverbal communication.
People who are in confusing, horrifying, or broken emotional communications throughout their infancy typically grow into adults who have difficulty understanding their own emotions and therefore the feelings of others. This limits their ability to make or maintain good relationships.
