Second Gas Leak In LG Polymers: Locals Evacuated:- The tragic gas accident in LG Polymers in Vizag killed 11 locals and hundreds of them were hospitalized. Most of them were evacuated and the gas leak came to control yesterday. But last night with some more leaks, all the locals who are residing in the radius of 5 km have been evacuated as a safety measure. Vishakhapatnam Police Commissioner RK Meena said that there is nothing to panic and the situations are under control. Ten fire tenders along with two foam tenders, 50 fire officials and NDRF staff worked to control the gas leak yesterday. The styrene gas leak took place in LG Polymers, RR Venkatapuram.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy announced an exgratia of Rs 1 crore for the kin of the deceased. Some of the people are on a ventilator and are undergoing treatment currently. AP Government announced compensation for all those who are hospitalized. The locals requested the closure of LG Polymers and an inquiry on the incident is staged. All the patients will be treated for free as they would be covered under Arogyasri trust. The postmortem of the deceased in the gas leak tragedy will take place today.
