AP High Court Orders To Seize LG Polymers:- The Andhra Pradesh High Court took a sensational decision to seize LG Polymers which was the reason for the tragedy of styrene gas leak in RR Venkatapuram, Vizag that killed 12 people recently. The division bench of Andhra Pradesh High Court ordered the seizure of the LG Polymers. Thousands of people residing in the surrounding villages have been evacuated after the tragedy. Andhra Pradesh High Court took this case as suo motu on May 7th. The division bench said that no one would be allowed to enter the premises of LG Polymers.

The bench also asked the directors of LG Polymers not to leave the country without any permission. The National Green Tribunal (NGT) imposed a fine of Rs 50 crores to LG Polymers for being irresponsible. A five-member committee is set up to submit a detailed report about the incident. The High Court also asked not to shift any of the movable and immovable machinery, content from the premises. The committee asked not to allow the release of the passports of the directors that are surrendered already. LG Polymers will now face a tough time in Vizag. The locals demanded the seizure of the premises and wanted the company to be shifted.
