Microsoft acquires 48 acre land for Data Centre in Hyderabad:- Microsoft Corporation, the tech giant, has made a new acquisition in Hyderabad, picking up a 48-acre plot of land for around Rs 267 crore. According to data analytics firm Propstack, the purchase was made through Sai Balaji Developers, a land aggregator in Ranga Reddy district. The Economic Times (ET) reports said that the company intends to establish one of the region's largest data centres, expanding its data centre operations. The property is located around 40 km from the central hub of Hyderabad and commanded a premium price. In total, Microsoft acquired three land parcels in Hyderabad for approximately Rs 275 crore to build their new data centre. The Hyderabad data centre region will join the three existing regions in India, located in Pune, Mumbai and Chennai, which have been operational for the past five years. Microsoft already operates an India Development Centre (IDC) spanning 54 acres in Hyderabad, as well as centres in Bengaluru and Noida, which have played a significant role in developing Microsoft's technological portfolio. This includes Azure, Windows, Office, and Bing.

Microsoft Corporation (India) has acquired a commercial land spanning 10.89 lakh sq ft in Pune from Finolex Industries for a total of Rs 328.84 crore. The land, located at Pimpri Waghere in Pune, was obtained through a lease transfer agreement with Finolex Industries. Along with the payment, Microsoft also paid a stamp duty of Rs 16.44 crore for the transaction. Meanwhile, in another project, Noida Authority has allotted a land area of over 60,000 sq m to Microsoft India (R&D) Private Limited in Sector 145 for a premium of Rs 103.66 crore. The Noida Authority has given a five-year period for the completion of the project by the tech giant.
