Parts of Hi-Tec city were echoing with uproars last evening as GHMC officials carried out their pending operation of demolishing the illegal structures that popped up without having any clearance certificates.  Amidst tight security, bull dozers brought down multi-level apartments in couple of minutes.  Despite locals, predominantly households, urging officials not to demolish their homes, officials went ahead stating that they got the permission of Lokayukta.

In Rayadurgam, Madhapur, Chandanagar and Kukatpally police limits, police carried out their operations. Around 300 officials plunged into the operation demolition. It has to be mentioned here that GHMC ordered the officials to demolish illegal structures. This order came on November 5 and primarily directed officials to submit a report on the same by November 7. Accordingly, a report was submitted and notices were subsequently sent to 36 multi-storeyed structures in and around Hi-Tec City. While some approached the court of law and got stay, some ignored the notices. And the buildings of those who didn't get any stay from court were demolished.
