YSRCP merges with TRS, in Telangana assembly

Telangana Assembly Speaker Madhusudana Chary merged all the three legislators of opposition YSRC party, with the ruling TRS party in Telangana state.

Right after the formation of Telangana state and TRS government in 2014, no other party could make any influence in the state. Especially, according to the analysts, the position of YSRCP is that worse, that the party, could not even contest in most of the important polls, held after the general elections.

At a point of time, a few even felt that, the party office would soon shift to Andhra. Finally, here comes the day for YSRCP, to give off the party operations in the state.

The Telangana assembly speaker said that, all the members of YSRCP had submitted a letter, stating that, they have merged with the TRS legislature party. Reacting to their letter, the speaker allotted seats to them along with members of the ruling party.

The news came out, 2 days after one legislator and the lone member of parliament of YSR Congress in Telangana, joined the TRS. Two legislators had already joined the ruling party. In March, the speaker had allowed 12 TDP legislators to merge with TRS legislature party.

In the 120 member assembly, the strength of TRS, has officially rose to 81. However, the actual strength is 89, as 8 legislators of Congress party have also crossed over.

The analysts opine that, this decision of YSRCP is a wise one at the right time, as the party has nothing much to do in the Telangana state, other than calling off.
