‘Telangana Haritha Mitra Awards’ has been introduced by the state government, deciding to present the awards splitting it in three categories, namely individuals, institutions/organizations and local bodies, and also having the sub-categories under each category.

Considering each sub-category, one award in each, will be given at state and district levels. Rs. 1 lakh cash award will be given for individuals and 2 lakh for other categories, in token of recognition of their contribution in increasing the green cover.

According to the orders, the Afforestation Fund will meet the expenditure and the awards will be presented on June 2nd, on the occasion of the Telangana State Formation Day.
