Rejection Vote Starts from MP

As per the directions of the Supreme Court for the first time a rejection option is given to the voter in the elections in Madhya Pradesh.

The Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh are going to implement it first with an option in the hands of the voters to reject all the contestants.  Now, if a candidate is voted others are naturally rejected by the voter.  But what if a voter doesn’t want to vote any of the candidates contesting in the elections?  It is solved now with the Supreme Court’s recent judgment that voters should be given a choice to reject all the candidates if they find no one is worthy of getting power.

The provision for the rejection vote is made in the AVMs and tested today by the election commission officers.  The same provision now has to be included in the ballot papers also.

But, the officers said, the implementation of the rejection votes is still to be studied further for an effective implementation of it.
