Election Commission announces Polling Dates for Five Indian States:- The Election Commission of India announced that polling dates and schedules for five states: Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Puducherry. Elections would be held for 294 Assembly constituencies of West Bengal, 234 seats in Tamil Nadu, 126 seats in Assam, 140 seats of Kerala and 30 seats of Puducherry. The elections in West Bengal will be held in eight phases and in Assam, the polls will be completed in three phases.

All the poll officials will be vaccinated before the elections and all the coronavirus guidelines would be followed. Model of conduct comes into effect immediately. Here are the list of phases along with the election dates for the states:

West Bengal:

First phase: March 27

Second phase: April 1

Third phase: April 6

Fourth phase: April 10

Fifth phase: April 17

Sixth phase: April 22

Seventh phase: April 26

Eighth phase: April 29

Counting: May 2

Tamil Nadu:

Date of polling: April 6 (Entire state)

Counting: May 2

Puducherry:

Date of polling: April 6

Counting: May 2

Kerala:

Date of elections: April 6

Counting: May 2

Assam:

First phase: March 27

Second phase: April 1

Third phase: April 6
