In continuation of the congress core committee meeting held Friday evening, the members of the committee today held discussions over Telangana issue in the office of the Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee in Delhi.
Except for the party president Sonia Gandhi, the meeting was attended by the Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, Defense Minister AK Antony, Home Minister P. Chidambaram and Sonia’s political Secretary Mr Ahmad Patel.
Sources said the only agenda of the meeting is the Telangana issue and the members may later meet the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi to submit a possible solution to the high command.
After their discussions in the office of Pranab, Azad told journalists that a reasonable decision would be taken on Telangana after consulting all the stake holders to the issue. “We have completed one important process on Telangana and another process has begun. This also has to be completed through consultations,” said Azad.
He requested the media not to telecast imaginative stories on Telangana and asked journalists to be of some patience till a final decision is arrived at.
