Quake hits Pacific region off Fuji

In a recurring phenomenon of the earthquakes in the recent past, an earthquake of a 6.3 magnitude has rocked the Pacific region south of Fiji islands this afternoon, according to the United States Geological Survey.

There are no immediate reports of loss of life or property. Neither is there a tsunami threat alert by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.

The quake struck in the Pacific 760 km south of Fiji at a depth of 583 km, according to the statement released by the United States Geological Survey. (JUBS)
