Gaddafi‘s 42 year rule almost to end

The rebels surged into the capital, to end the 42 year reign of Muammar Gaddafi

The rebels engaged in a fierce fighting with pro-Gaddafi forces near the Tunisian border. Natives celebrated the arrival of the rebels at the green Square.

The rebels fought against the pro Gaddafi men around his compound after they swept into Tripoli almost unopposed. Most of the pro Gaddafi forces were withdrawing towards east of Brega.

Inspite of a grim situation, the Colonel has said on the state television that he shall not leave Tripoli and urged Libyans to fight till the end.

The Al-Jamahiriya State TV station in Tripoli came under the control of the rebels. A rebel spokesman informed that the revolutionaries entered the Station after defeating the soldiers surrounding it.

He said "The revolutionaries stormed the television building ... after killing the soldiers surrounding it,"

Gaddafi's son Saif al-Islam had been arrested and another son Mohammaed Gaddhafi was afraid to leave his house. It is stated that Gaddafi has not been seen, since weeks, in public.

Most of the world leaders are slowly recognizing the Libyan rebels as the alternatives for a new better Libya.
