No Social Distancing Rules to be Followed in APSRTC Buses:- The situations are slowly returning back to normal mode after a six-months long break due to the coronavirus pandemic. The train, bus and flight services have resumed recently and they are witnessing low footfalls. The officials of APSRTC met the officials of TSRTC but they are at loggerheads over the resumption of bus services between the Telugu states. The interstate services are currently operating and the city bus services have been resumed in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam recently. The officials of APSRTC removed half of the seats to maintain social distancing in the buses across the state. The officials of APSRTC issued orders that there would be no such process followed in the coming days.

The bus services of APSRTC resumed on May 21st and the state-run corporation has been running limited services in the state. Half of the seats are granted permission and necessary changes are made. Now the officials decided to run services with full occupancy. The state government took the decision about the same and the officials decided to implement this. All the necessary changes are currently being made and they would be implemented at the earliest. After a gap of six months, the city bus services in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam resumed on Saturday on an experimental basis. Vijayawada witnessed 120 buses across 30 routes and the footfalls have been decent.

No standing travel and boarding of running buses would be allowed told APSRTC officials. The temperature of the passengers is screened before they board the buses. The interstate services between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana too will be resumed soon.
