Kejriwal eating mangoes to raise sugar levels says ED:- Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, who is currently incarcerated in Tihar jail for his alleged involvement in an excise policy case, has been accused by the Enforcement Directorate of purposely consuming mangoes and other foods in order to raise his blood sugar levels. The agency claims that he is doing this as a ploy to secure bail on medical grounds. During a hearing in front of Special Judge Kaveri Baweja, Kejriwal requested regular medical check-ups and online consultations with doctors. The prosecution argued that Kejriwal, who has diabetes, was intentionally consuming sugary foods to manipulate his sugar levels. However, Kejriwal's lawyer, Vivek Jain, defended his client, stating that the diet was recommended by his doctor. The court has scheduled another hearing for Friday and has requested a medical status report from Tihar Jail authorities.

He was imprisoned on April 1, following the decision of Special Judge Kaveri Baweja to detain him until April 15, which was in response to the abandoned Delhi excise policy. The ED claimed in its previous request for custody that the AAP's campaign for the Goa Assembly elections had been financed with kickbacks obtained from modifications to the Delhi excise policy. The agency referred to Kejriwal as the main instigator and central figure in the alleged scandal.
