We have heard about the amount of calories get burnt while kissing but Dutch scientist have come up with something strange. The scientist in their new study reported that a 10 seconds kiss will lead to transfer of 80 million bacteria but scientists say that it is healthy. This study was recently published in journal Microbiome
The research performed this study on 21 couples and on their kissing habits like how frequently they kissed and when was the last time they locked their lip. Scientists took bacterial samples from the volunteers' tongues and saliva before and after a 10-second kiss. Then a member from the couple was asked to drink probiotic drink and kiss again. In the second kiss, it was noted that, large population of bacteria transferred from one partner to another.
This also means, the couple can deal with similar infection and also digest similar food. On an average, a couple will lock their lips nine times a day, stated the study.
