The Supreme Court has dismissed the petition filed by controversial godman Nithyananda against conducting potency test to him in connection with a 2010 rape case. In fact, the Apex Court questioned Nithyananda's reluctance undergoing potency test saying such examinations are necessary keeping the view of increasing rapes in the country.

The Supreme Court was also angry as the case has in pending for four long years and asked the police to complete the case as early as possible. The Karnataka government had told the court that a potency test was necessary to verify Nithyananda's claim of not having any desire as he was neither a man nor a woman.
