Key accused in Swamy Nithyananda scandal surrenders

"I'm not a man. There's no way I could have indulged in sexual activities with women. Do a potency test on me". That's the sum and substance of Swami Nityananda's startling statements to CID sleuths.

The video scandal involving the self styled Godman Nithyananda reached a new dimension with the key accused Lenin Karuppan voluntarily walked in to the CBI dragnet in Chennai, along with his advocate, on Wednesday. Lenin, the former driver of the Godman is supposed to be instrumental in recording the Video and circulating the same. The Godman had launched a complaint against Lenin last year that Lenin had threatened him and extorted money over the video tapes last year. With this submission more facts are supposed to see light over the controversy.

As per an earlier report one of the Godman’s close associate called Nitya Gopika, was the master mind behind this video scandal involving a Tamil actress and the Godman in a compromising position. Nitya Gopika always travelled with him to the US and handled his personal belongings. Nitya Gopika initiated the video recording after she began to feel insecure when Tamil actress Ranjitha become rather close to the Godman. She used his driver Kuruppan Lenin to expose Nityananda's activities, the sources said.

Swami Nithyananda was arrested on April 21, 2010 in Arki in Himachal Pradesh by Bangalore Police with the help of the police of Himachal and the interrogation was done in Bangalore by the CID of the Bangalore Police. On 11 June 2010 Nithyananda was granted bail, and was released from judicial custody after fifty two days in Ramanagaram sub-jail. (With inputs from internet- AarKay)
