AP Govt Builds 2.7 Lakh Toilets: State Declared Open Defecation Free:- Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandra Babu Naidu yesterday said that the newly formed state is now open defecation free after it reached the goal of constructing 2.77 lakh individual toilets. "We have completed the task of constructing toilets but they have to be used by every individual. For that, the administration has to take up some awareness programmes", Babu said during his Chittor tour.

AP's urban areas have been declared open defecation free in 2016 and Babu interacted with the Collectors of 13 districts to make this possible across the state. The Union government and Swachch Bharat Mission presented the ODF city certificate to the Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) already which is a great achievement. The Swachh Bharat mission granted the ODF tag to Hyderabad after GHMC constructed 98 public toilets.
