Bicyclone 2013 September 30, 2013 11:33

In an attempt to make the city free from the pollution, GHMC, APIIC, HMR and Hyderabad Bicycling club jointly constructed a Bike Station, a cycle shelter in Gachibowli Hyderabad.  It was formally inaugurated on Sunday by the Governor of Andhra Pradesh ESL Narasimhan.   The Governor expressed his wish that the city called as cyber city will be called as cycle city soon.  He said that the use of cycle should be encouraged to check pollution in the city that is increasing day by day.  He said that the city of Hyderabad should be without motor vehicles in the coming 10 years period.  He asked the participants of the cycle show to continue using it further even after the photo session is over.   Afterwards a rally called “Biclone 2013” was flagged off by the Governor for 10, 25 and 60 kilometers cycling.  After flagging off the Governor also participated in cycling wearing helmet.  He was accompanied by Ministers Danam Nagender and Prasad Kumar and MLA Bikshapathi Yadav. The program was also attended by City Mayor Majid Hussain, APIIC MD Jayesh Ranjan, Metro Rail MD SVS Reddy, Cyberabad Police Commissioner C.V.Anand, Former Chairman of  Hyderabad Bicycle Club D.V.Manohar, European Cycling Federation President and Corporators Avula Satyanaryana, Jagadeeswar Gowd and Ravinder Mudiraj.   {besps}stories/slideshow/Bicyclone2013Photos{/besps} The Governor rightly said that the show should not end there.  It should not be limited to the photo session.  Usually an event is forgotten after they go into daily routines get busy in other things which they think are more important.   Apart from keeping the atmosphere healthy the cycling also keeps the cycling person healthy.  It saves fuel and contributes towards National savings.  A cycle is such a light vehicle that the rider can carry it if it is required.     To promote the theme of cycling we may have to make some more occasions of that sort in which VIPs should participate to make it a popular event so that it will be covered by the media.   There are many plans if the authorities want to make it a popular theme.   At present a cyclist is given the least priority on the road.  A separate lane can be allotted on the road in to which no other vehicular traffic should be allowed.  A cycle with gears and tubeless tires can be subsidized by the Government.  So many other plans can be envisaged to make the city cycling popular.   -SriJa

Srimatis' Pattu show reignites feminine elegance in silk September 26, 2013 11:28

Women clad in pure silk (Pattu in Telugu) saris made a show off at Hyderabad in the event "Srimati Silk Mark 2013" organized by the Hyderabad Chapter of Silk Mark Organization of India. Women wearing silk saris of different colors dazzled the on lookers. The organizers said that the aim is to introduce the traditional style of wearing a sari to the new generation and to preserve the tradition. A sari multiplies womanly charm and one need not say anything about the beauty of a silk sari.  But because of the rush in the daily life modern women particularly working class are thinking that a sari is not comfortable for the brisk movement while walking, boarding a bus or moving on two wheelers.  Ready-made garments and casuals have taken the place of a sari.  As the custom of wearing voni (half sari) also has gone away gradually, the habit of sari wearing is also coming down but for the occasions of marriages and festivals and because of the adoration for the silk sari among women. The rattling sounds out of the friction created by the silk sari coupled with the chirpy bangles brings a womanly flavor to the air that is sure to divert the subconscious thoughts of a male to slip into.  Many participants congratulated the organizers of Srimati Silk Mark 2013 for making an effort to keep the tradition alive. -SriJa

Ambani's female hacker only wanted his salary details September 14, 2013 16:20

Top industrialist Anil Ambani has been stripped of his financial details. At 21 years of age, this female chartered accountant had a lot of nerve to hack the leading businessman Ambani himself. She just wanted to check his income details and tax returns, police said. Unfortunately, her cyber crime was not fool proof. The girl faces arrest, which is bailable. According to the police, there is sufficient evidence against her, never mind that she has readily confessed to the crime. The cops managed to seize the server through which the crime had been committed and found the girl too, who happens to be located in Hyderabad. Police confirmed that the chartered accountant had hacked into the e-filing account of income tax returns belonging to Ambani. Through the account, she grabbed details of his income, tax payments over a period of time and Ambani's PAN number. To get to this data, the girl changed the e-filing account password twice. A Mumbai-based chartered accountant firm, which files Ambani's individual tax details, received the e-mails of each password change. The first change happened on 26th June and the second was on 12th July. Cyber cell inspector Mukund Pawar is the man in charge for investigating the case. Initial probe into the matter traced the hacking to a computer at Manoj Daga and Company. (AW: Sruthi)
