Six persons were arrested by the RGI Airport police on Thursday for abducting a 20-year-old woman and attempting to rape her at a farmhouse at Rallagadda. But the victim escaped from the clutches of her abductors and sought the help of police.

The RGI Airport police said "Abdul Rehman, Abdul Raheem, Abdul Faheem, all from Kamatipura, Imran Ali of Bahadurpura, Abdul Kareem of Rajendranagar and farm house watchman Yadaiah were arrested after the victim was rescued near the farm house."

Assistant commissioner of police (Shamshabad) B Anuradha said "the culprits abducted the victim while she was walking on the road at Aramghar and took her to a farm house in a Toyota Qualis. They also brandished a knife and threatened the victim. The culprits paid money to the farm house organizer. As they were drunk, she could overpower them and escape from the location. Later, she alerted her boyfriend, who in turn called the police. The victim was sent for medical examination and the accused were arrested from the farm house. The culprits were booked under section 342 ( Punishment for wrongful confinement), 366 (Kidnapping, abducting or inducing the woman to compel her marriage), 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing), 506 (intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)."

Police added that "In another case, an auto driver, who abducted a 28-year-old woman, was arrested by RGIA police on Thursday. Mohammed Sharfuddin was arrested from his residence at Hasan Nagar-based on technical analysis by collecting call details.On Tuesday, a woman passenger boarded Sharfuddin's auto and, while going towards Simplex, he diverted the auto on some other route and started demanding sexual favors. The victim jumped out of the auto and reached the RGI Airport police station. Based on the complaint, police nabbed Sharfuddin."

In the newly-formed Balapur police station limits, police booked a man for harassing a 65-year-old woman. Police registered a case under section 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the IPC and arrested him.
