Engineering Student found Dead at Medipally

In a shocking incident, an engineering student was found dead in suspicious circumstances at her grandmother’s house at Medipally on Tuesday.

According to the police, the 17-year-old, student, D. Sahithi had been staying at her grandmother’s house. The girl’s parents died when she was young. Sahithi’s body was found with an injury on her chin. The victim’s uncle alleged foul play as she was the legal heir to the property of her parents and was about to turn 18 in two weeks, when she would be able to inherit it.

Police said “Sahithi was found dead on Tuesday by her grandmother. “We were told that Sahithi had slipped and fallen in the bathroom and had suffered an injury on her chin early on Tuesday morning. After that she went to sleep but did not wake up,” said Medipally inspector B. Naveen Reddy.”

The police inspector said that “Sahithi was suffering from chronic illness since some years. Police sent the body for autopsy to find out the cause of death. Forensic doctors did not find anything unusual. They are checking if the sudden death was due to ill health. Meanwhile, we have booked a case after a complaint from the victim’s uncle and has started a probe.”

Sahithi’s relatives said that “she had inherited property worth several lakhs after her parents died. When she turns 18 in the next two weeks she would have been able to legally take over the property. This was the reason they suspected foul play in Sahithi’s death.”
