Minor girl forcibly married

A Sudanese national was arrested by Moghalpura police station in Hyderabad on the charges of marrying a minor girl.   The Sudanese Osama Ibrahim who was working as a Project Engineer for a petroleum company in Sudan came on February 19th all the way to India only with a sole purpose of marrying a girl here.  As he was advised by his friend that it is easy to marry in India, he came here with a solitary motive of marrying who ever the girl may be.

He was ready to spend a sum of Rs.2 lakhs for arranging a marriage here. His trials worked out thanks to the cooperation of three persons at Hyderabad one of whom was a lady whose name is Mumtaj Begum. She readily accepted to help the prospective groom and offered 4 girls to him out of whom Osama Ibrahim chose one who turned out to be a minor of 17 years of age and the girl did not like this marriage proposal. She objected for it Osama being of her father’s age.

But Mumtaj reasoned with her parents and settled the issue with them. The girl was forcibly made ready to marry Osama on 21st February. The girl some how managed to escape from their clutches last night and reached the police station to lodge a complaint against them all. The police sprang in to action and arrested the bride groom in making but also the three who helped him in the unlawful act charging under various sections of IPC and Prohibition of Child Marriage Act.
