We quit for people, says Jana reddy

We quit for people  says Jana reddyPanchayat Raj Minister Jana reddy said today that he along with some other ministers, congress MLAs and MLCs of the Telangana region have quit their posts to bring the sentiments of the Telangana people to the notice of the party high command and not to create a crisis for the party or the government. Jana reddy was among the group of 37 congress MLAs and MLCs of the T region who have quit their posts demanding the formation of the Telangana state,
 
“This is not defiance of the party,” he told media persons after submitting the resignations to the Deputy Speaker Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka in his chambers in the assembly premises.
 
Jana reddy said that the Centre must abide by the December 9, 2009 statement on the formation of the Telangana state and hoped that the Telangana area would soon get freedom.  
 
He said that they would go to Delhi and meet the party president Sonia Gandhi to request her to announce the formation of Telangana state.
 
Earlier reports said that the Telangana congress leaders have decided not to go to Delhi despite the request of the party high command to come for talks on the issue.
