PCC chief D. Srinivas said today that he was not in the race for MLC elections and would take up any responsibility the leadership may give him in the party.

Talking to media persons after discussions with the chief minister Kirankumar reddy in Hyderabad, Srinivas said his future was in the hands of the party president Sonia Gandhi. “I have handed over my future to Sonia. So, she will shape my future and I have high respects for her,” he said.

Disclosing that the names of party contenders in the MLC elections would be announced late this evening or tomorrow morning, the PCC chief said that selection of candidates depends on their winning strength.

Refuting criticism that no congress leader was taken into the CWC from AP, Srinivas said Sonia knows well who and when should be taken into the CWC.

Hailing the appointment of Gulam Nabi Azad as AP Congress in charge, Srinivas said it was a good development and hoped he would set right the situation in the party and in the state as well through his good relations with various leaders.
