Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi has asserted that Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) ideologies are responsible for Mahatma Gandhi's murder at the Vikas Khoj Yatra in Gujarat. The state's Congress Youth Wing organized his meeting at Bardoli, a tribal dominated area in south Gujarat and Rahul interacted with tribal people. Bardoli is famous for Sardar Vallabhai Patel's civil disobedience campaign against the British and Rahul opted this place so as to attack the chief minister and his arch rival Narendra Modi.

Rahul also said to respect the “Chai Wallah” (tea vendors) but asked the people not to respect who take them for granted. “Leaders of Gujarat don't know the history and they are falsifying the factors about Sardar Patel. Ban on RSS was the sole reason for Mahatma Gandhi's assassination,” said the rumored to be next PM post aspirant.
