A woman who seem to be in her mid 40s was found dead with injuries all over her body near Saidapet on Thursday morning. Quite obviously it was suspect by the Police that the woman was sexually assaulted before being murdered. Some morning walkers found the dead body and called the Chennai city police control room at 5.30am. Police were not able to identify the woman.
A police sniffer dog was brought to the spot ran until the Saidapet bus terminus and stopped as if having lost the scent. Police added that the woman was wearing a saree who suffered deep injuries on her head, face and hands, apparently caused by a blunt weapon.
The body has been kept at the Government Royapettah Hospital morgue while the Saidapet police have registered a murder case.
It's high time now that we do something before the society transforms itself into a hell!
