Food poisoning at iftaar party victimises 435

An iftar party has vitimised over 435 people in the North 24 Parganas district after they ate food in the iftar party, the minister of state for health Chandrima Bhattacharya has said today. Of the victimstwo children had died while over 400 people were hospitalized.

5 of these 435 hospitalized patients in the ID Hospital in the Beliaghata locality were in critical condition.
Chandrima said that the cause of the poisoning was Ghugni an item made of pulses prepared by the community kitchen yesterday in an iftaar party in Bankra are in North Dum Dum in North 24 Paraganas district,

Victims were admitted in ID hospital while two children who were admitted died.

A medical team was being sent to Bankra to attend to the victims and the minister would also visit the area soon.
