Telangana Governor Rejects Two BRS MLC nominations:- Telangana Governor TamiliSai sparks into a fresh row. TamiliSai Soundarajan has rejected the BRS leaders MLC nomination, who were proposed by the state government. Dasoju Sravan Kumar and K Satyanarayana were proposed as the Legislative Council members under the Governor’s quota and Tamilisai rejected them.

Tamilisai wrote two separate letters to the chief minister KCR after rejecting the proposal. In one of the letters she wrote, “My earnest request to the cabinet and the Hon’ble chief minister is to avoid such politically aligned persons to fill up nominated posts under Article 171(5) of the Constitution of India, defeating its objectives and enactment and consider only genuinely eminent persons in the respective field.”

This is the second tussle between the state government and the Governor. She recently went on a tug-war with the state government after rejecting the Government’s proposal for the TSRTC merger.

BRS has responded to the Governor’s Article 171(5) citation. K Satyanarayana hailed from the Scheduled Tribes Community and Dasoju Sravan hailed from the Backward Classes community. BRS recommended these two leaders for the MLC post, which Tamilisai rejected.

Raj Bhavan states that Dasoju Sravan doesn’t have any special achievements in literature, science, art, cooperative movement and social service. K Satyanarayana was also rejected on the same grounds. BJP has welcomed the decision of the Governor.
