Hyderabad’s ORR Water Supply Project To Start In August?

Hyderabad’s ORR Water Supply Project To Start In August?:- To start the major water supply project for 183 villages within Outer Ring Road (ORR), the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) is making all its due efforts.

The project, estimated at a cost of Rs 628 crore is expected to start from August and complete the works by June 2018. The water board will lay pipelines, construct reservoirs and ensure supply to 183 villages, as part of the project, which are beyond Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits, but within the radius of ORR.

The water board which has invited private companies to take up the project, has earmarked around 10 millions of gallons per day of water for supply to these villages.

HMWSSB Managing Director M Dana Kishore directed the officials to take over the lands identified for construction of reservoirs. He instructed them to collect the maps of villages and prepare the work schedule.

The project will provide drinking water to 183 villages under the purview of seven municipalities. “Works have to be started in August this year and by June 2018, the entire project should be completed,” he said.

The works are to be taken up in annuity mode wherein HMWSSB will repay the project cost to the selected company in yearly installments.

According to the terms and conditions, the selected company will have to maintain complete infrastructure, including pipeline network, and reservoirs for the initial two years.
