Hearing adjourned by one day on vacation petitions

The AP High Court today adjourned till tomorrow hearing on the vacation petitions filed by former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and others seeking to vacate its earlier orders directing the CBI and ED to conduct preliminary probe into allegations of misuse of power and accumulation of illegal wealth by him during his stint as CM.

Pulivendula MLA YS Vijayamma’s counsel Mr Sushil Kumar told the Court that no court had given any clean chit to the former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in the past and requested the court not to vacate its earlier orders.

A division bench, consisting of the justices Rohini and Ashutosh Mahanta, heard the arguments on behalf of Naidu and Eenadu Group chairman Ramoji Rao.

Anil Diwan, counsel for Ramoji Rao, told the court that Vijayamma never complained against Chandrababu Naidu and others when Naidu was chief minister for 9 years. “She filed the petition when the CBI was investigating the case against YS Jaganmohan reddy for allegedly possessing illegal wealth. The Vijayamma petition was politically motivated,” he argued and sought to vacate the earlier orders. (JUBS)
