Assembly adjourned sine die

Assembly adjourned sine dieSpeaker Nadendla Manohar today adjourned the assembly sine die after the election of the Deputy Speaker much to the enigma of the TDP. While adjourning the assembly, the Speaker made no mention of the no-confidence motion for which the TDP had given notice earlier for the second time.

The TDP leadership, worried that its first notice for the no-confidence motion may be rejected because of the technical snags, served another notice of no-confidence against the Kirankumar reddy government.

The TDP MLAs had actually served a notice on Thursday by handing it over to the Legislative Assembly secretary.TDP fears it may not be accepted by the Speaker as the notice was submitted much before the Assembly was convened.

Technically, the notice would not be eligible to be qualified and because of this, the TDP MLAs had served another notice to the Assembly secretary. But the MLAs claimed that the secretary had not given them any receipt after they have submitted the notice.

While the TDP members were expecting the Speaker to make an announcement on their motion, Manohar said he was adjourning the house sine die. He did not make any mention of their notice.

The TDP members then resorted to a dharna at the Speaker’s podium raising slogans against the government.
