Kiran thwarts Jagan plot, wins all seats

KiranJaganDespite the cheating through cross voting resorted to by MLAs of almost all parties, the ruling congress and its allies managed to win the seven seats they contested in the Council elections from the MLAs constituency.

The winning of all its candidates gave a big relief to the chief minister Kirankumar reddy who planned counter moves to the moves of the former Kadapa MP Mr YS Jaganmohan Reddy who ordered his MLAs to cross vote to defeat the fifth congress MLA.

Five congress candidates, one PRP candidate and one MIM candidate who contested with the congress support won the election.

The Telugu Desam won two of the three seats it contested. CPI too won the lone seat it contested for the council with the support of the TDP. TDP candidate and former speaker Pratibha Bharathi lost in the election.

The lone TRS candidate Mohammad Ali lost as he was polled only 11 votes which included two votes of the BJP and one vote of Pocharam Srinivasa reddy, the rebel candidate of TDP. TRS has strength of 11 MLAs in the house and its candidate was supposed to have got 14, taking into the count the support of the two BJP MLAs and Pocharam Srinivasa reddy. But he got only 11 votes indicating three of its MLAs resorted to cross voting. TRS is now trying to find out the three of its MLAs who cheated the party.

On congress part, some MLAs owing allegiance to the YSR congress president YS Jaganmohan reddy also resorted to the cross voting with a view to defeat the fifth candidate of congress Mohammad Jani.
Jagan held discussion with 23 MLAs and told them to cross vote for the MIM candidate but Jagan was shocked to find only 9 MLAs supporting him had cross voted for the MIM candidate resulting in the victory of Mahammad Jani in the counting of the second preferential votes. Jani was defeated in the first preferential vote but he managed to win ultimately in the second vote. This indicates some of the Jagan men had cheated him and ultimately the word of Kirankumar reddy prevailed over Jagan.

The winning candidates are: B. Chengalrayudu, M. Sudhakar Babu, Paladugu Venkat Rao, Mohammad Jani and M.Ranga Reddy ( Congress ) , Syed Altaf Hyder Razvi ( MIM) , C.Ramachandraiah ( PRP), PJ Chandrasekhara Rao ( CPI), Gangadhara Goud and SV Sailesh Kumar ( TDP).
