Justin Timberlake apologizes for prank video by friends

Justin Timberlake, the pop singer who recently got married to the Hollywood star Jessica Biel had to offer an apology on Friday after his friends made a video featuring homeless people who congratulate the new couple as a joke.

This humorous gift was deemed insensitive by the gossip website Gawker laid its hands on one of the video. TMZ.com the celebrity news website has tracked down one of the men in the video who mentioned being paid $40 for his appearance.

Offering the apology in an open letter on his website, Timberlake said that he had no knowledge of the video on the site but he said that it was distasteful. He added that the video however was a joke on him and not a mockery of the destitute in anyway.

"My friends are good people. This was clearly a lapse in judgment which I'm sure no one who is reading this is exempt from. But, I don't believe it was made to be insensitive. More so, I think it was made as a joke on me not having that many friends attending my own wedding (which IS kind of funny if you think about it)," the singer said.

"Like many silly rumors that I have been made aware of about the week: It was NOT shown at my wedding ... I think we can all agree that it was distasteful, even though that was not its intention.”

He concluded that his friend would now be doing 100 hours of community service as a punishment for his deeds. "I'm having my friend do at least 100 hours of community service ... Boom." For, what goes around comes around.

Gawker had to remove the site after they were threatened of a lawsuit from the friend of Timberlake, Justin Huchel. He mentioned that the film was extremely private to be played at his wedding as a private joke without Timberlake's Knowledge.
