Will CSK play the finals?

Looks like this is the end of the line for N Srinivasan's days as BCCI President. The members of the board have their own plans to oust him from the position if he doesn't take the step voluntarily. They have plans for getting him suspended if he doesn't step down from the position after being tainted in the IPL spot-fixing scandal that involved his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan.

The CEO of Chennai Superkings, Gurunath, was arrested and disowned by the franchise after his alleged involvement in the spot-fixing scandals and betting. That leaves the next closest heir to the position under threat and that is Srinivasan.

Rattled by his continued defiance, some top Board officials have started the process to oust him by getting him suspended and using the services of his predecessor Shashank Manohar, who has a clean image. Manohar has also agreed to take up the position on an interim basis till elections are held for a new President, which would be in September 2004 when the 2years +1 year tenure of Srinivasan would come to an end.

Meanwhile Meiyappan in the custody of crime branch of police is being uncooperative and evasive about several questions leading to further complication of the case.
