Android phones are greatly intertwined with the social networking websites and applications. Earlier there were rumors that Facebook was planning on its own phone based on the Google's Operating System Android. The rumors seemed to be true when Facebook has sent invites to people for a new showcase event, "New Home on Android". This title itself suggests that it would foray into the smartphone segment. Now the speculation have all been put to rest when pictures of the first Facebook Phone HTC First surfaced online.
EVLeaks mentioned that the Facebook phone will be called the HTC First and will have an OS that is heavily modded to have a deeper integration for Facebook. This style of customizing the Android OS was earlier seen on the Kindle range of tablets.
The 4.3" touchscreen phone will support 720p video recording and will have a dual-core processor from Qualcomm Snapdragon and hence we can expect a longer battery life. Rumors say that the camera on the rear will be a 5MP shooter, outdated compared to the current trends, 1GB RAM that will make multitasking a breeze and Android OS version 4.1, JellyBean. With HTC Sense 4.5 loaded on top, you will find it more convenient to use than the present HTC phones.
HTC had two phones which had Facebook integration, Salsa and ChaCha, which had a dedicated key to the social network.
With the new ad invite from Facebook "Come See Our New Home On Android", the anticipation for the phone has been rising.
