India loves Windows 8

Only a week after the release of the latest operating system from the software giant, Microsoft, the response was magnificent with the figures pointing out at a great success. The scenario in India is no different the chairman of Microsoft India, Bhaskar Pramanik said. He also added that in the recent AppFest that was conducted in India where over 700 apps have been developed, at least 300 of them are all set to make their way into the Windows store making the content available to users globally.

In the first four days of the launch of Windows 8, there have been four million downloads of the software, pointing out to the high adoption rate in the future.

"Response in India is equally overwhelming - not just in terms of downloads but in terms of foot-falls we have seen in all our stores, all across the country", Bhaskar said at the road-show launch. "From India, we have built a huge number of applications".

It is known that in the AppFest that they have conducted last month, several developers had gathered at the fest and developed over 700 apps of which 300 have been approved to get into the Windows store. A few are already available while few others are in the process, he added.
