Windows 8 Lumia mobile could be launched on Sep 5

The under-appreciated Winows mobile brand Lumia from the Finnish mobile manufacturing company, Nokia had announced a joint press conference scheduled at 9:30 am in New York on the September 5th. Could this mean that they are lifting their curtains that veil the much rumored latest mobile from Nokia Lumia range of Windows mobiles?

The speculations are strengthened with the Apple iPhone's latest generation phone to be launched around the same time and it has also announced the launch of the new iOS 6 and next generation iPod Touch. The media had not be apprised of any other specifics about the event. The much rumored Nokia's latest to-be flagship phone is Nokia Lumia Phi, a mobile based on the latest Windows 8 platform that is yet to be released. Nokia CEO Stephen Elop had said on Wednesday that they are 'soon' going to unveil a new mobile with Windows 8 OS, further making the rumors credible.

The Lumia Phi boasts of a 4.3” touchscreen powered by a dual core Qualcomm S4 Snapdragon processor. This NFC and LTE capable phone would replace the Nokia Lumia 900 which is their present flagship device.

A newspaper in Finland, Helsingin Sanomat, had mentioned that they would also unveil the Microsoft Surface, a Windows 8 in the same conference as opposed to the officially announced date of October 26.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 has also released and is expected to launch the second generation of Galaxy Note around the same time too.
