Talented illegal immigrants to get 2-yr deferral from deportation: Obama

The US president Barack Obama on Friday afternoon said that talented illegal immigrants in the United States would not be deported if they pose no security or criminal threats. He has also said that the changes made by his administration will make the immigration policy more fair and more efficient.

Obama has also stressed that it serves no purpose to expel the talented immigrants who are Americans. According to the new immigration policy, people who are below 30 years of age and who came to the United States before 16 years of age, and who attended a school or served military, and who pose no security threat can get two-year deferral from deportation.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) welcomed the decision of Obama. Reports indicated that millions of illegal immigrants in the United States will now get a deferral due to the new imigration law.
