Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu has conducted a surprise check at his office today morning. Mr. Naidu discovered that about 80 employees were late to the office and met all the latecomers. He reportedly asked an explanation and ordered for stringent action.

Venkaiah also directed the officials to install biometric attendance system in the ministry office and senior bureaucrats have been asked to visit every day to keep on eye on who's missing; attendance registers will be removed 15 minutes after "the due time of reporting" and latecomers will be marked absent and penalized that day's salary.
