RBI issues a clarification on withdrawing Rs 100 and Rs 10 notes:- There are several speculations across the country about the ban of Rs 100, Rs 10 and Rs 5 notes in the country. To keep an end to all the speculations, the Reserve Bank of India issued a clarification about the notes. The Reserve Bank of India said that the old series of notes will not be discontinued. "With regard to reports in certain sections of media on withdrawal of old series of Rs 100, Rs 10, and Rs 5 banknotes from circulation in near future, it is clarified that such reports are incorrect" posted RBI on their official twitter handle. There are strong speculations going on from the last weekend that the old notes of Rs 100, Rs 10 and Rs 5 will be discontinued from March this year.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced currency demonetization in the year 2016 for Rs 1000 and Rs 500 notes but Rs 100, Rs 10 and Rs 5 notes are not banned. In the year 2018, the Reserve Bank of India announced new currency notes of Rs 10, Rs 50 and Rs 200. In the year 2019, the RBI also introduced new Rs 100 notes (lavender colour). At the same time, the RBI announced that all the old notes of Rs 100 would continue to be in circulation. After 2016, the Reserve Bank of India introduced Rs 2000 notes in the country.
